Beach: Bliss

May 31 2009, Sunday. At 7 AM, I went to a chicken stall near my house (in ECR) to buy chicken. The person in-charge of the store told me that it would take another 30 minutes to prepare the chicken. I didn't want to wait till then, I drove towards the beach in ECR road. I drove at the speed of 10 kmph and enjoyed the architecture of the big and beautiful beach houses. I reached the beach in 5 minutes, parked the car and walked on the beach sand.

The naughty sun was out, but hidden behind clouds :) so, the weather was very pleasant. There was no one in the beach for at least 500 meters from either of my side. I enjoyed the lonely walk on the beach sand. Walked very slowly, noticing all the tiny ships far inside the sea. I did a 180 degree turn and walked backwards and enjoying the beach house beauty from beach side. Again a 180 degree turn, walked towards the beach. I reached the shore point where the beach water comes and pulls in towards beach. I stood there for 10 minutes and watched the beauty of the waves in water. I enjoyed the wave sound ussshhhhh-dummmmhhh-ussshhhhh-dummmmhhh. It was so wonderful to see the entire stretch of beach in the mild chill weather at 7 AM. While I was enjoying it, I realized that I had been to the beach only 5-6 times in the past 8 years (though I live just 300 meters from the beach). I realized how stupid I was to miss such a wonderful gift of nature. I had missed a lot. I made a point that I should visit the beach at least once in a fortnight. I thought I should have had a laptop with broadband net connection to just sit down on the beach sand and chat with all my near and dear ones, to browse, to play my favorite game of Chess (and more importantly, win all games). Slowly, the sun starting coming out of the clouds and the rays reflected on the sea. Man, I must tell you it was a fascinating experience :) Within seconds, the sea was literally glittering because of the sun rays reflection. I wanted to walk all along the beach shore, but I didn't do it. Wish I had my lady love next to me to hold hands to stroll along the beach shore without noticing the time! And that will happen soon.

Why the F (not Fruit) would you want to take your laptop to such a beautiful place untouched by the artificial?!! All the comfort and ambience the post established till then vanished in a pop at that, for me :(
We all have truly become enslaved to technology.. Laptops, especially..
